Membership of the Association of Breast
Surgery
There are five categories of membership:
Full Members are:
Professors, Senior Lecturers, Consultants, Associate Specialists,
Staff Grades and Breast Physicians.
Associate Members are:
Specialist Registrars, Clinical Assistants and Senior House
Officers.
Affiliate Members are:
Researchers and Allied Health Professionals.
Overseas Member
Professionals working in surgical oncology outside the UK. Members
from the Republic of Ireland can choose to join as Full, Associate
or Affiliate members or as an Overseas member.
Senior Retired
Professionals, who have retired from practice.
There is also now an additional category of membership:
Breast Unit Nurse Membership
This allows nurses to join the ABS for free, if they are
sponsored by a full member of the ABS in their unit. Each unit has
to nominate one nurse who will be the main contact for them. This
individual will receive a copy of any ABS mailings for their unit.
All other members will receive all e-mail communication. For
further information.
The subscription year runs from the 1st July, but new members
can join at any stage during the year. Subscriptions are due
every July, however if you join between March and June you will be
exempted from the July subscriptions collection.
To join please download the membership form and return it to the
ABS office along with your CV, the completed Direct Debit form and
a cheque for your first year's subscription.
