NCIN National Breast Cancer Workshop

The NCIN National Breast Cancer Workshop is being held on 6th October 2015 at Coin Street Conference Centre, 108 Stamford Street, London, SE1 9NH.
This year the workshop will focus on current and future challenges for Diagnostic Breast Outpatient Clinics and will be of specific interest to members of breast diagnostic teams.
Topics to be covered during the day will include:
- A snapshot of the latest data on the number of referrals to clinics with time trends over recent years
- Early findings from the Be Clear on Cancer campaign aimed at women over 70
- A detailed look at the Commissioning specification for breast diagnostic services
- A comparison of breast survival in the UK compared to other countries
- A discussion of the triple assessment model in breast cancer diagnosis
- Breakout groups to consider the challenges in diagnostic services and to identify models of good practice
This workshop is aimed at Breast MDT and Clinical Leads, radiologists, members of breast diagnostic teams, commissioners and clinical nurse specialists.

ESSO Advanced Course on Breast Cancer Surgery

The ESSO Advanced Course on Breast Cancer Surgery will be held in Lisbon from the 8th - 10th October 2015. This is a highly interactive workshop at the cutting edge of current concepts of surgical treatment of breast cancer. It will focus on the evidence-based clinical practice and technical aspects of breast cancer surgery within a multidisciplinary approach.

The Second iBRA Study Day

4th Annual National PROMS Summit 2015

The 4th Annual National PROMS Summit will be held on the 1st December 2015 at the Colmore Gate Conference Centre, Birmingham.
ABS members receive a 20% discount on their registration fee.
The conference combines practical presentations with masterclasses to ensure hands on interactive learning. The focus of the conference is PROMS in clinical practice, the conference uses practical case studies of PROMS changing clinical practice alongside expert sessions.

Mammary Fold Academic & Research Day

The Mammary Fold Academic and Research Collaborative (MFAC) will be holding their first Academic and Research Day at the Studio in Birmingham on the 12th February 2016.
The day will aim to showcase collaborative breast surgery projects and provide trainees with a forum to present their research and audit projects to a wider audience. There will be talks on how research can be integrated into career pathways and opportunities for networking.
Abstracts are invited from consultants and trainees on all aspects of breast disease from basic science research to audit and quality improvement projects. The abstract deadline is the 1st December 2015. Please click here to view the call for abstracts.
The Mammary Fold Academic and Research Prize will be awarded for the best oral presentation given by a trainee at the meeting and the best poster will receive the Mammary Fold Poster Prize.
There will also be a Dragons' Den event so trainees can pitch to the Dragons for the opportunity to design and lead the next national collaborative breast project as well as win an iPad Mini.
