Basic Ultrasound Skills Course for Breast Surgeons

The Basic Ultrasound Skills Course for Breast Surgeons will be held on Friday 30th September 2016 at Chorley and South Ribble DGH.

The aims of the course are to develop basic skills in performing breast USS for Breast Surgeons/ Surgical Trainees and to learn and develop skills that could be translated to day to day practice of breast surgeons.

Breast Reconstruction Surgery Cadaveric Training Day
24 Oct 2016

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow will be holding a Breast Reconstruction Surgery Cadaveric Training Day on the 24th October 2016 at the Clinical Anatomy Skills Centre.  The course is suitable for all surgical trainees with an interest in Breast Surgery.

The course will provide hands on experience using fresh/ frozen cadaveric.  The programme will include:

  • Skin sparing mastectomy
  • Implant based breast reconstruction (including device assisted)
  • Axillary node dissection
  • Latissimus dorsi flap breast reconstruction

The fee for RCPSG Fellow Member is £195, the full fee is £245

Breast Cancer Symposium 2016

The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow is holding a breast cancer symposium on risk reduction strategies on the 10th November 2016.

The 2016 multidisciplinary breast symposium will update knowledge in all areas of breast cancer risk reduction.  Topics covered will include risk assessment and current trends and controversies regarding lifestyle, pharmacologial and surgical risk reduction strategies.

Breast Surgery as Day Surgery
24 Nov 2016

Attendance at this conference, being held at the ICO Conference Centre, London, which has been produced by the British Association of Day Surgery, will enable delegates to develop a day case management pathway for patients requiring breast surgery.  The basic elements of a day surgery pathway will be presented including the evaluation of the quality of care provided.  Specific details of multi-disciplinary care specific to breast surgery management will be presented by acknowledged experts in the field from a variety of backgrounds, reflecting the importance of the multi-disciplinary team in successful delivery of day surgery care for these patients.
