Master of Surgery in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery(MS or PG Dip)
The University of East Anglia's established Master of Surgery in
Oncoplastic Breast Surgery is a unique and innovative course,
specifically designed to enable flexible study to allow time to
develop skills and careers. This course offers the highest
qualification worldwide within this specialism and is available for
ST5 and above trainees in breast or plastic surgery resident in the
United Kingdom.
The course explores the theory and evidence to underpin The
Royal College of Surgeons' (RCS) specialist Oncoplastic Surgery
competencies and is strongly supported by the RCS (Eng), the
Association of Breast Surgery and the British Association of
Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.
Delivery is primarily online, through engaging, challenging and
realistic cases presented within an online learning community
setting. Our unprecedentedly large cohort of expert teaching staff
consists of the country's leading Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons
(breast and plastics). Unique to this Masters course, training and
assessment of communication, cognitive and operative skills will
form an integral part of the programme. Link surgeons allocated to
each trainee will mentor and guide practical skills development and
may offer opportunities for further surgical skills development
within the education setting.
The next course will commence in January 2012 on a part-time
basis.
Closing date for applications is 14 November
2011.
