NHS BSP Update - September 2020
In September 2020 an update was sent out to ABS Members in relation to some changes in the NHS Breast Screening Programme at the current time as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic.
NHS BSP Patient Notification Exercise Update
In early 2018, Public Health England (PHE) and NHS England (NHSE) became aware of an issue with the NHS Breast Screening Programme, which led to some women not being invited for their final screen between their 68th and 71st birthday.
This is now resolved, and NHSE, PHE and the Department of Health and Social Care took the decision together to offer a re-screen to women who were affected. As part of this Patient Notification Exercise all affected women registered with a GP received a letter with clear advice and signposting.
